Vernon H Herbert

Vernon H. Herbert Sr.,of Litchfield,  94, passed away on February 17, 2018. He was born in Litchfield, Conn. on September 25, 1923 to Edward Herbert and Angel Cattey Herbert. He was the eldest of two children. He attended Litchfield High School before enlisting in the United States Marine Corps, where he served honorably. He was predeceased by his sister Barbara Herbert Janisewski, his wife Marion Cooney Herbert, with whom he had three children, and his second wife Gladys Herbert. He is survived by his three children, Celine Baldwin of Bethesda, Md., Kathleen Herbert of Torrington and Vernon Herbert Jr. and his wife Michelle of Harwinton. He is also survived by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Alan Baldwin and his wife Angie and their two children, Megan Sexuaer, Kurt Sexauer and his wife Rebecca, Marion Herbert and Michael Herbert. He was laid to rest on February 22 with military honors alongside his late wife Marion surrounded by loving family.   www.phalenfuneral.com
