Steven Zavatkay

Steven Zavatkay, 44, of Plantsville, formerly of Torrington CT passed away Monday, September 26th, at Saint Mary's Hospital, Waterbury CT

Steven was born in Torrington, CT on January 11, 1972, a son of Beverly (Brennan) Ferris, and the late Robert J Zavatkay. An avid reader, he attended Torrington High and was employed as a restaurant worker at Back Nine in Southington.  He was a friendly and giving person who in the end,  gave the "gift of life" to many through organ donation.

He leaves his mother Beverly Ferris and husband Revere of Mt. Dora Fl, and brothers Robert Zavatkay and wife Darlene and their children Jacob and Dylan of Litchfield; Mark Zavatkay and wife Debra and  children Ian, Alexis, and Mark Jr., DJ and Lexi Reynolds, of Torrington; sisters Lisa Lamonica and husband Tony and their children David and Lindsay, and Michelle Zavatkay and her son Zachary Dimenstein, all of Torrington an aunt Henrietta Zavatkay and several cousins.

Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30:on Saturday, October 1st at Saint Francis Church in Torrington, CT. Burial will be private at Hillside Cemetery.
