Richard J Jacques, 66 of Goshen, CT passed away Tuesday May 2 at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital surrounded by his loving family after a brave and courageous battle with cancer.  He was the loving husband of 47 years to Bonita Pelkey Jacques.
Richard was born December 8, 1950, in Hartford, CT to the late Evelyn (Dungan)  and Herve Jacques.  In Addition to his wife he leaves behind; daughter April Marshall and husband Wyatt of Torrington, son Richard Jacques Jr. and wife Leona of Torrington, son Jeremy Jacques and wife Janet of Goshen. He has 4 beautiful granddaughters,  Chantee, Haylie, Jocelyn, and Evelyn.  He also leaves behind brothers Herve Jacques Jr. of South Carolina, Arthur Jacques of Ohio, Wayne Jacques of South Carolina,  sisters Donna Natalini of  East Windsor, and Jacqueline Katich of Alabama.  Many nieces and nephews and cousins Roy and Joseph Dungan ,and  Mary LeRoux.  He was predeceased by sisters June Dimauro, Mary Blinn, and Carol Robinson Sr.
Richard graduated from Oliver Wolcott Technical High School in 1969.  He served in the United States Army National Guards fron 1970-1976.  He was the founder and owner of King-Richard Transmissions, Inc. where he worked for the past 42 years.  His customers were not just his customers they became his friends and family.  He enjoyed camping, dancing and spending time with his family, he was also well known for his sense of humor and wit.  He was a member of the Torrington Elks, Goshen American Legion, and the NRA.  Richard put his all into everything he did, his work, his home, his family, and the battle with his health.  His family is very proud of him for his strength and courage and will miss him dearly.
 
The family wishes to thank their many customers over the past 42 years, the staff at Wolcott Hall, Charlotte Hungerford Hospital 4th and 5th floors, and Radiology for their care, support, and friendship.  Special thanks to the Center for Cancer Care and Dr. Christina Gomez for their excellent care.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 on Monday May 8 at St. Frances Church in Torrington, with burial following at the New St. Francis Cemetery.  Friends may call 4;00pm to 7:00 pm , on Sunday May 7th at Phalen Funeral Home, 285 Migeon Ave. Torrington, CT.
