Raymond C Rivers

 Raymond C Rivers, 60, of  Torrington, CT, passed away Monday, April 4th, surrounded by his loving family after a short courageous battle with cancer.  He was the beloved husband of Laura (Gorham) Rivers.
Raymond was born in Torrington, CT on August 31, 1955, a son of Barbara (Fabbri) Rivers, of Torrington CT and the late Raymond E Rivers and was a lifelong resident of Torrington.  Ray retired from the State of Connecticut DOT,  Signs and Markings,  Torrington after 20 years of service.  He was a member of NRA,  Veneta Society, and was his shop Union Steward CEIU.  He loved hunting and fishing, Nascar, and most of all,  camping with his beautiful granddaughters Amber, Alicia, Alana, Enjelah, Payton, and Hayden.  Most of all Ray enjoyed life and friends,  and playing cribbage.  Along with his loving wife Laura,  Ray is survived by his daughter Jennifer Rivers and fiance Diogo Godoi of MA,   sister Joann Abeling and husband Keith of Torrington,  brother Robert Rivers and wife Caroline of Torrington and he was predeceased by a sister  Lisa LeClaire.  Ray also loved his niece and nephews, Scott Abeling,  Alicia DaPonte,  Robert Rivers and Christian LeClaire.  Please join the family to celebrate his life with stories and memories Monday April 11 from 5:00-7:00 PM at Phalen Funeral Home 285 Migeon Ave Torrington.  www.phalenfuneral.com
