Martha C (Washington) Namey

Martha C Namey, 77, of Torrington, CT, passed away at Thursday, September 8th, at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer.

Martha was born in Lakeville CT on March 31, 1939, a daughter of the late Irene and George Washington. Educated in Norfolk, she retired from Seitz Corp in August and had worked for many years at Timex in Torrington and Shelton. She was an avid bowler with her sister Mary and loved to collect dolls and angels. She enjoyed trips to the casino with sister Ellie and loved being with her grandchildren, especially Regina who spent many sleep overs with her. She is survived by sons John and wife Michele and Glen and wife Diane and daughter Lisa, all of Torrington, grandchildren Regina, Shaunta, Monica, Jeffrey, and Jessica, and step grandchildren Christopher, Evan, Chelsea, Victoria, Brandon, and Brian. She also leaves sisters Mary Kantor and husband Frank, Barbara Sherwin and husband Chuck, Ellie Batkey and husband Bob and Cheryl Washington, and brothers Ronald and wife Norma,  George and wife Debbie, Al and wife Kim, and Brent Washington, several nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews,  and was predeceased by brothers John, David James, and Robert Washington.

A Memorial service will be held Friday Sept 16 at 10 AM at Phalen Funeral Home 285 Migeon Ave Torrington with burial following at Hillside Cemetery.
