Obituary Martha Elizabeth (Kjellerstedt) Lent, formerly of Torrington, CT and Cape Cod, MA, died peacefully at Greene Meadows in Catskill, NY on Tuesday, January 12, 2016. Martha was born in Bridgeport, CT on March 18, 1928 to Herbert P. and Sarah (Saville) Kjellerstedt. She was a graduate of the Torrington High School Class of 1945 and a lifetime member of the '45 Club. Martha was married to the late David A. Lent for 57 years. She was employed as an executive assistant at The Torin Corp in Torrington, CT. After 'retiring' to Brewster she was employed by Bay Village Realty. She and David enjoyed their final retirement years at Heatherwood in YarmouthPort. Martha was a long-time member of Center Congregational Church in Torrington, CT, as well as The First Congregational Church of Harwich in MA. She actively participated in the many volunteer opportunities the churches offered. Martha loved hosting holiday and summer gatherings, both in CT and on the Cape. She never missed an opportunity to enjoy the company of family and friends. She was the loving mother of Cynthia E. Van Loan and her husband John of Cairo, NY; David A. Lent, Jr. and his wife Elizabeth of Epsom, NH; Barbara E. Hoffman and her husband Paul of Oakville, CT; Bradford A. Lent and his wife Lynne of Mesa, AZ; and the late Deborah A. Hagenian. She was the grandmother of Sarah E. Reese, Matthew C. Hagenian, Katharine L. Duggan, Jeremy D. Lent, Alison E. Bozzuto and Michael P. Hoffman; great-grandmother of Katelyn E. and Mackenzie G. Reese and Kayleigh E. Bozzuto. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Pamela A. Kjellerstedt, son-in-law Charles P. Hagenian and many nieces and nephews. Martha was predeceased by her sister, Amelia E. Waldron and brother, Albert W. Kjellerstedt. Memorial contributions may be made to your local Hospice. A memorial service is planned for Noon  April 9 at the Hillside Cemetery Chapel with burial to follow.
