Josephine (Savoia) Tyrrell

Josephine S Tyrrell, 85, of Torrington, CT, passed away Monday, May 29th, at Valerie Manor. Se was the husband of the late Glenn Tyrrell.

Josephine was born in the Bronx on August 15, 1931, daughter of the late Josephine (D'Martino) and Michael Savoia. She moved to Winsted as a child and attended Saint Anthony School. She moved to Torrington in 1950 and married Glenn in 1955.

She had worked for Son Chief Electric in Winsted and also for The Torrington Register. She was a member of the Franciscan Society and Saint Peter's Holy Rosary Society.

She leaves her son Gregory Tyrrell and his wife Cathy and their children Jordan, Jason, and Alexis, and a brother Sal Savoia, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Jean DeAngelo.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, June 7th at Saint Peter Church in Torrington, CT with burial following at New Saint Francis Cemetery.
