Joseph A LaTulipe Sr

Joseph A LaTulipe Sr., 59, of Torrington passed away peacefully Friday, August 4th, at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Mary Ellen Cesareo LaTulipe.

Joseph was born in Torrington, CT on April 25, 1958, son of the late Joan (Ratte) and Adelbert LaTulipe. He graduated Wamogo High School in 1976 and began his career working for his family's business, LaTulipe Brother's Construction. He was a member of Local 478 International Union of Operating Engineers, and most recently worked for J.Iapaluccio Contractors of Brookfield, CT. His greatest joy in life was his family. He enjoyed his role as co-president of the Southwest School PTO for 14 years, and as volunteer coach of his son's Torrington Little League baseball team. In addition to his wife, he leaves a daughter and two sons; Tara Fischer and her husband Craig; Brian LaTulipe and his fiance, Sarah Dubourg; Joseph LaTulipe Jr., and his wife, Mindy; 5 grandchildren; Austin, Zoe, Mackenzie, Max, and Nora; one sister, Ann Marie Lallier and her husband David, and their children; one uncle, Robert Rattie and his wife Ellen, and their children; one aunt, Virginia Pileni; one sister-in-law, Lori Schiavo and her husband, David, and their children; two brother-in-laws; William Cesareo and his wife, Kim, and their children; Richard Cesareo and his wife, Susan; and several cousins and close friends. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude for the exceptional care Joe received from Dr. Lindenberg and staff at Connecticut GI for the past 30 years, and from Dr. Gomez and staff at the Smilow Cancer Center for the past 5 years. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 AM on Tuesday, August 8th at Saint Francis Church in Torrington with burial services following at Hillside Cemetery.

Friends are invited to call 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Monday, August 7th at Phalen Funeral Home.
