John A Palmer

John A Palmer, 79, of Harwinton, CT, passed away Friday, March 31st, at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital. He was the husband of the late Marilyn Derby Palmer.

John was born in Winchester, CT on July 30, 1937, a son of the late Bertha (Thomen) and Williston Palmer.

He served in the U.S. Marines as a Corporal from 1954 to 1958. He was employed by Dwan & Co in Torrington as a sales representative for over 30 years. An avid golfer, he was a member of Torrington Country Club and also Torrington Elks Lodge, The Foresters, and Germania Singing Society.

He leaves a daughter Vikki Palmer of Colebrook and her children Dalton and Paige Delay, and a sister Judy Hammer and husband Greg of North Carolina. He was predeceased by son Vincent Bradley and a brother Williston Palmer.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Sunday, May 21st at First Congregational Church 835 Riverside Ave Torrington. www.phalenfuneral.com
