John J Bierce, 67, of Torrington, passed away Monday, February 19th, at Hartford Hospital. He was the husband of Evelyn Jean Brazell.
John was born in Bronx, NY on May 28, 1950, a son of Florence (Rydzeski) Bierce, of Harwinton and the late John D. Bierce. A graduate of Torrington High Class of 1968, he served in the National Guard. He was employed by Formaggioni Brothers Oil Company and later was instrumental in the establishment of Torrington Energy Co. An avid golfer and motorcyclist, he enjoyed pool playing and was a member of Torrington Elks Lodge.
In addition to his wife and mother, he leaves brothers Kenneth Bierce and Marsha Deming, and Richard and Cindi Bierce, and sisters Terri and David Grosso and Julia and David Casper, nieces and nephews Kenneth, Kevin, Samantha, Dawn, Daniel, Nicole, and Robert.
