Jeanette M. Moreau (Nichols)1928-2017

Jeanette M. Moreau (Nichols), 89 of Torrington, CT. went to heaven on Sunday, March 12, 2017 to reunite with her husband Alcide, who died in 1992. Jeanette was born in St. Albans, VT. on March 6, 1928 to the late Emma and Leo Nichols. At the young age of 15 she married Alcide Moreau and they enjoyed 48 years of marriage, building a life together and expanding their family with 12 children.  

Jeanette worked at various jobs throughout her lifetime, but the most important role to her, was that of wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She leaves behind sons, Phillip (Linda), of Florida, Roland (Linda), of Oregon, Arthur (Chris) of California, David (Darlene), of New York, Alcide of Pennsylvania, her sons, Stephen and Donald predeceased her. Daughters, Doris Altobelli of Connecticut, Polly Beaudoin of Connecticut, Theresa Moreau of Massachusetts, Barbara (Kris) DeBisschop of Connecticut, and Elizabeth Moreau of Nevada. Mrs. Moreau is also survived by 27 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. She was predeceased by four siblings, and her grandson, Randy.

Jeanette was a wonderful Mom and a superb cook and baker who always kept her family and visitors well fed.

She loved her family very much. Job well done. Rest in Peace now Mom.

Services for Jeanette will be Thursday, March 16 at 11:00 at the Phalen Funeral Home on  285 Migeon Ave. in Torrington.
