Jeannette Louise (Spiess) Kulinski, beloved wife of Peter J. Kulinski left us on Christmas day surrounded by her loving family.
After Jeannette was diagnosed with Lung Cancer, she decided she wasn't going to let her illness have the last say. She fought valiantly at Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Atlanta, Ga.- and she won! She was the first member of a long line of family members to carry this victory. We couldn't be more proud of her strength and determination to win this battle.
Jeannette was born to the late Raymond A. and Catherine (Sweeney) Spiess in Torrington CT. Her legacy of caregiving began in her late teens while caring for her father who was battling cancer. This role carried on throughout her life as she cared for other ill family members. She committed her life to opening her home to her special sister Bertha, which lasted for more than 30 years. Additionally, she fostered various children in need of a home; each of which held a special place in her heart.
She leaves behind her sons Raymond Kulinski, Brian Kulinski and wife Sandra, daughter Kelli Klies and husband Richard all of Torrington CT., and daughter Tammy Lauzier and husband Glen of Colebrook CT.  Also to mourn her passing she leaves behind 16 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Some of her greatest joys with her grandchildren were slumber parties at her home with all the kids followed by her "famous" pancake breakfast, going on camping trips, annual corn mazes, and trips to Hampton Beach. Her greatest joy was bringing each of her children and grandchildren to Disney World.
Jeannette made friends everywhere she went. She never saw a line she didn't want to be in – knowing she would enjoy the company of those she met. This proved to be true receiving treatment in Atlanta. She created special bonds with Michelle, Christine, Roy, Richard, Misty, and Sierra. These friends became her family. She also befriended fellow patients, drivers, doctors, and hotel staff. She maintained a friendship with many of them until the end.
In addition to those already named, she leaves behind sisters, Joan Palmer, Bertha Spiess, a brother Robert Spiess, all of Torrington CT., as well as several nieces, nephews, and some very important life long friends. She was predeceased by her brother Raymond Spiess, sister Shirley Brighenti, and her grandson Ryan S.P. Lauzier.
Funeral Service will be held Tuesday Jan. 10 10:30 at Sacred Heart Church in Torrington CT.  Burial will follow at Saint Peter Cemetery.  Friends may call Monday 1/09/17 from 6-8 PM at Phalen Funeral Home 285 Migeon Ave Torrington.
