James G Verlato

James G. Verlato, 58, of Torrington, CT passed away Sunday, December 3, at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital.

Jim was born in Torrington on November 17, 1959, a son of the late Marian (Mason) and Frank Verlato Jr.  He was the beloved brother to Bruce Verlato of New Haven, CT.  He is also survived by cousins Claudia, Mark DiMattia of Beacon, NY, Michele (DiMattia) Marina of Cold Spring, NY, Joanie Usher of Cape Coral, FL, Robert Palin of Land O Lakes, FL, and Genevieve, Jennifer Febbriello of Shelton, CT.  Jim will also be missed by many dear friends, especially Karl and Michele Duksis of Torrington, and the warm, kind members of the Christian Apostolic Church in Torrington with Pastor John Massameno.

Jim was employed for several years by Hitchcock Chair in New Hartford and Petit Tool and Manufacturing in Thomaston, CT. He loved music, especially going to rock concerts of the biggest bands: Paul McCartney, The Rolling Stones, U2, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Foreigner, Chicago, and Jethro Tull.  And throughout his life there was always his trusty 4-legged friends by his side: Smokey, Molly, Sandy, and Smokey II.  God Bless You Jim!
