Irena Marija Faivre, 82 years old, peacefully entered the Kingdom of the Lord on January 24, 2016, at home, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Milton Faivre. Irena was born in Riga, Latvia on October 20, 1933, the daughter of the late Victor and Marija (Sabals) Jucevics.

Irena was a resident of Torrington and worked at Ingersoll-Rand for 25 years, until her retirement in April, 1988. A talented artist, Irena enjoyed painting, fishing, boating and rock collecting. She loved animals and nature and treasured the time she spent boating and fishing with her husband and family.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by sons Richard and Henry Najman, daughter Wanda Najman, step daughter Natalie Jury (Fred), and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, her brother, Bernhard Jucevics (Irene), sisters Angelique Shelnick, Beatrice Ozols (Andy), and Narcise Glace (Mike),  and nieces and nephews.

A Memorial service will be held Monday Feb. 29 at 6 PM at Phalen Funeral Home 285 Migeon Ave Torrington.  Friends may call prior to the service from 4-6 PM.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Irena’s name to The Little Guild of St. Francis 285 Sharon-Goshen Tpke West Cornwall CT 06796 or to a charity of the donor’s choice
