Glenn (Butch) Gauthier, 77, of Debary Florida, passed away on January 15th at home. He was predeceased by his wife, Joan A Gauthier. Glenn leaves behind a son William Gauthier and his wife Ilene of Florida and their twin sons (his beloved grandkids) Josh and Jason. He also leaves his daughter Shelley Holt and her husband Brandon of Arizona. One of eight children, he will be joining his brothers Jay and Armand (Sonny) and sister Gail in heaven and leaves behind his loving sisters Holly Ferrato and Melanie Myers of Florida, brother Wayne, sister Lydia and many nephews, nieces and cousins who will miss “Uncle Butch.”
Born in Torrington, son of the late Armand and Eleanor Gauthier, Butch grew up and then raised his own family in Harwinton. He worked for the Local 478 Union operating heavy equipment before his retirement. Butch loved the outdoors and hunting, fishing and spending time with his friends. He always had a tale to tell to make his family and friends smile. In 2015 Butch moved to Florida to enjoy the warmer weather, his family, and his prize 1947 Ford. He was a member of various Clubs, including the Burlington Men’s Club and most recently the Moose Club. There will be a celebration of his life at 10:00 am on Thursday, May 24th at The Hillside Cemetery in Torrington, Connecticut. He will then be laid to rest with his wife of 51 years.
