Gerald A Young

Gerald A. Young, of Torrington passed away peacefully Sept. 8, 2016 surrounded by his family. Born in Brooklyn NY, he lived in Sloatsburg NY for 32 years. He graduated from SUNY Oswego and Columbia University in NY, before having a successful career with Ramapo Central School District in Suffern NY, holding positions of Teacher, Guidance Counselor, and Director of Personnel Director for the last 23 years. Jerry was a career Korean War Veteran, serving with the US Army.

After retiring, he lived in Hershey PA, before moving to Torrington CT to be closer to his family. He is survived by his wife Lila of 58 years, a son Jerry, daughter in law Stacey, and 3 grandsons, Brendon, Tanner, and Kevin Young, all from Bethlehem CT. He was also predeceased by a daughter Jean.
