Frank Peter Morando

Frank Morando, 88, of Torrington,  passed  away peacefully January 6th 2017.  He was the husband of the late Ora  Stalker Morando.  He was born February 26th, 1928, son of the late Secondo and Rose (Bona)Morando,  After serving in WWII and being honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy, he began his career as a draftsman and was employed by the Torin Corporation in Torrington, Ct. After his retirement he enjoyed traveling and watching the UConn girls basketball games with his beloved wife, Ora, of 55 years. His greatest joy in recent years has been spending time, taking trips, playing cards and just enjoying life with all of his dear friends at the Sullivan Senior Center in Torrington.   He is survived by his son, Steven Morando and his wife, Victoria ( Liddle) Morando and their two children, Steven II and Kristina who reside in Torrington, his daughter, Ellen Tyler and her husband Michael of Ashley Falls, MA, and their son, Joshua   of Florida, his sister, Mary Reis and her husband, Chester of Torrington and he also leaves many nieces and nephews.             He was predeceased by his wife in 2006, a sister Catherine Conti,  and a brother Peter Morando.   Frank was a lifelong member of St. Peters Church and most recently became a member of the Winchester Congregational Church. A service for family and friends will be held at the Phalen Funeral Home 285 Migeon Avenue Torrington, Ct  on Saturday, January 21st at 11:00am.  A  private burial for immediate family at Hillside Cemetery in Torrington will take place at a later date.   In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Franks honor to the Sullivan  Senior Center,  88 East Albert Street, Torrington, CT 06790.
