Frank L Hayes

Frank L Hayes, 81, of Torrington, CT, passed away Wednesday, November 8th, at home surrounded by his family. He was the loving husband of 52 years to Dorothy (Paar) Hayes.

Frank was born in Torrington, CT on February 23, 1936, to the late Bessie Nagy Killingbeck and Frank Hayes. He served in the US Army during the Korean War and successfully ran his business A-1 Custom Cleaning for 40 years. 

His passion was long distance bicycle rider. He also enjoyed wood working, reading, jig saw puzzles and coloring.  
He served as President of St. Mary's Home School and was President of the Holy Name Society, served on the Archbishop's Synod Committee and worked with the homeless. He also served as a Eucharistic Minister and received the Saint Joseph Medal, and was also a member of the Knights of Columbus.
 

In addition to his wife, he leaves daughters Kathleen Simeone and husband Ray of East Hartford, Suzanne Hayes of Torrington, and AnnMarie Nieradka and husband Joseph of Caldwell NJ and grandchildren Andrew and Robin Simeone and Sammy, Maggie, and Charlie Nieradka. Also surviving are brothers James and wife Nancy Hayes, Patrick and wife Kathy Hayes, and sister Elizabeth Gallagher.

He was predeceased by a sister Ruth Addison and twin brother Hurlburt Hayes.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 AM on Monday, November 13th at Saint Francis Church in Torrington with burial following at Saint Peter Cemetery.

Friends are also invited to call 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM on Monday, November 13th at Saint Francis Church.
