Edward P Kittle Jr, 81, “Eddie” passed away peacefully February 28, 2018, following an accident and lengthy illness. Eddie was a well-known long time resident of the Torrington area. Born in Hudson NY, July 5, 1936, he was raised and educated in Winsted, CT. The family lost their home in the Flood of 1955, and moved to Torrington. He entered the Army and was honorably discharged as Private First Class in July, 1965. Eddie was member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 478 for over 30 years, working construction across the state. Eddie was predeceased by his parents, Edward and Gladys (Rice) Kittle Sr., Brother William "Billy", identical twin brother, Elmer, and daughter Brenda. Eddie is survived and loved by many children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Eddie was a dynamic, animated and witty man who loved to have a good time. He was known to drive Cadillacs, play the organ, and take trips to the casino. Everyone who met Eddie has a story about him; as he always left an impression. A very social person, he was surrounded by loved ones in his last days.
