Donald L Schroder

Donald L Schroeder, 90, of Torrington, CT, passed away Sunday, May 28th, at home. He was the husband of 67 years of Mary Daley Schroeder.

Donald was born in Torrington, CT on September 4, 1926,  son of the late Marjorie (Leonard) and Henry Schroeder. A graduate of Torrington High class of 1944, He also served in the US Navy during WWII. He worked for Northeast Utilities for 42 years, retiring June 1, 1988. He served as Secretary of Torrington Elks Lodge for many years and was honored as an Elk of the Year. He also served as a Torrington City Councilman for several years. An avid golfer, he enjoyed watching his New York Yankees.

In addition to his wife,  he is survived by his children,  Debora Graham and husband David,  Terry Schroeder and wife Debbie,  and Jody Schroeder,  9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
