Donald D Hanrahan
November 15, 1932 ~ June 27, 2017 (age 84) 84 Years OldDonald D "Doc" Hanrahan, also known as "Poppy" 84, of Northfield CT, passed away Tuesday, June 27th, at his home. He was the loving husband of 62 years of Sally Levigne Hanrahan.
Donald was born in Torrington, CT on November 15, 1932, a son of the late Dorothy (Dean) and Thomas Hanrahan, and served in the U.S. Army as a Sgt in the Korean War. He worked as a install repairman for SNET for 32 years before retirement and was a member of Thomaston Fish and Game, a former Assistant Chief and member of Northfield Volunteer Fire Dept., and a member of the Telephone Pioneers. He enjoyed reading, carving, and sopcializing with friends.
In addition to his wife, he leaves a daughter Susan Deering and husband William of Northfield and their children Lily and Alex, a brother Thomas Hanrahan and wife Martha of Cape Cod, and sisters Gail Nicosia, Patricia Duchene, and Katherine Pollilck and husband George,sister in law Barbara Peck and brother in law Walter French, several nieces and nephews.
Graveside Service will be held 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 8th at Northfield Cemetery
