David R. Reardon--Loving Son, Brother and Uncle

David R. Reardon died unexpectedly on July 18th at his home.  He was the beloved son of Claire Flynn Reardon and the late Ronald E. Reardon.  David was born on October 25, 1963 in Torrington.  He attended St. Francis of Assisi School and Torrington High School, and graduated from King’s College in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania in 1985 with a degree ins Business Administration. After graduation, David’s extensive business career began at American Express Financial Services in New York City.  He transitioned into the hospitality field as General manager of The Inn at Lake Waramaug in New Preston, and later was Manager of the Waitsfield Inn, in Waitsfield, Vermont.  In 1995 he moved to Jaffrey, New Hampshire and worked in sales for Sysco Foods.  In 2000, he opened his own restaurant,  Third Base, In Winchester, New Hampshire, while also managing Lilly's on the Pond in Rindge, NH. It was in Winchester at Third base where David made his mark on the world.  Hi motto “Last Stop Before Home” was indicative of his love for people; he treated customers like friends but considered them his bosses.  He strove to know them, serve them and give them a reason to return, with great success.  David’s kindness and loquaciousness defined him.David had many passions – canoeing, boating, travelling, landscaping, and many others, but his truest passion was his relationships with all he knew.  He also loved spending time at Tyler Lake at the family’s cottage surrounded by large groups including his mother, and his many nieces and nephews who could count on a good time on the water with Uncle Dave in his newly restored Glastron ski boat or in numerous other family boats.  He never disappointed.  Spending the last two years of his life in Connecticut was a gift to his family. He leaves six brothers, William and Deborah of New Hartford, Paul and Claudia of Torrington, Michael and Christine (Tina) of Litchfield, Mark of Torrington, Thomas and Sandra of Torrington, and Brian Reardon and Fiona Bohane of Litchfield;  a sister Mary Ellen D’Amico and Joseph D’Amico of Hilton Head, S.C. ; an aunt, Joan Bleau, of Bristol; and his loving nieces and nephews  Megan, Patrick (Katie), Libby, Kelly, Claire, Brigid, Allison, Kyle, Shannon, Rosemary and James Reardon, and Nathaniel, Andrew, Ellen and Anna D’Amico.

Funeral Services will be held Friday July 21 11 AM at Saint Thomas Church in Goshen with burial following at New Saint Francis Cemetery.  Friends may call Thursday from 6-8 PM at Phalen Funeral Home 285 Migeon Ave Torrington.  www.phalenfuneral.com
