This is Kevin Canfield. Forgive me for being so tardy with this.

I just wanted you to know that I was sad to hear of David's passing. I don't pretend that I knew David well, or that he knew me well. But I know the Reardons and have always admired your family very much.

I was lucky enough to go to school, both grade school and high school, with Mary Ellen, who will always be one of my favorite people.

You should all know that there are many people thinking of you in your time of loss, and I hope that that can serve as some comfort to you.

Playing football in the "field"--I didn't even know how to play it was just tackle I guess. Collecting apples from your tree and ours and then "bombing" each other. David and I were introduced to each other when he move back to Connecticut through our mutual friend Toby. In no time at all we became close friends. David was a funny, caring, loyal friend that was always willing to lend a hand.
I will miss his off centered humor that I didn't always get right away- but he was eager to explain and then we would both have a good laugh.
I have great respect for his dedication, patience, and love he had for his mother.
As a caregiver myself I admired how quickly David mastered the skills it took to care for Claire.
I am devastated with his unexpected passing and will miss him dearly. He has a wonderful soul and I feel blessed that he came into my life!
