Charleen, very sorry to hear of the passing of Bernie. Always enjoyed talking to him when we boarded our dogs. Bernie had a story to tell and sometimes we shared a beer. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

The First Litchfield Artillery Regiment honors Sgt. Major Bernard P. Chevalier for his years of duty. The bronze cannon that is seen at many events each year was built in Bernie's woodshop in 1973. This gun is a constant reminder to us that Sgt. Major Chevalier was one of the early founders of the "Artillery" and the fact that it is still functioning after 54 years attests to the strong foundation built by the early members.

Uncle Bernie, you stepped up, filled a void in my life, and kept my compass pointed north at a time that I could have drifted off in any direction. I am forever grateful. RIP my friend😇.
