Amerigo P Malanca

Amerigo P Malanca, 89, of Torrington, CT, passed away Monday, November 14th, at Valerie Manor. He was the husband of Mary Kufchak Malanca.

Amerigo was born in Torrington, CT on October 17, 1927, a son of the late Natalie (Graziani) and Peter Malanca. He served in the Merchant Marines during WWII and later for the US Army during the Korean War. He retired from the Quality Control Division of General Time. He was a member of the Torrington Coin Club and AMVETS, and the Sullivan Senior Center. He enjoyed being a Summer resident at Tyler Lake in Goshen.

In addition to his wife, he leaves grandchildren Andrew and Samantha and great grandchildren Joseph, Grace, and Emily,  several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son Michael, and brothers Fred, Joseph, and Lawrence.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Thursday, November 17th at Saint Francis Church in Torrington, CT Burial will follow at New Saint Francis Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 9:30-10:30 at Phalen Funeral Home 285 Migeon Ave Torrington. www.phalenfuneral.com
