Al Joseph Brochu

"AL" Joseph Brochu, 77, of Torrington, CT, Saturday, November 25th, at home. He was the husband of 56 years of Beverly (Schmidt) Brochu.

Al was born in Biddeford, ME on April 7, 1940, a son of the late Lea (Manseau) and Joseph B Brochu.

He was employed by Torrington Casting Co for 29 years and had also worked at Crescent Mfg. and Northeast Fasteners. Family was his life and he and his wife enjoyed line dancing for over 24 years and the many friends associated with it.  He also enjoyed many vacations  to Palm Bay FL.

In addition to his wife,he is survived by a daughter, Emma B Davis, of Torrington with Charles B. Whiting III, and a son,Joseph Brochu, of Harwinton with Cherie Hughes.He also leaves a grandson Gaige Davis with whom he had a special bond, and a step brother Ernest Melancon of Clearwater FL,  many loving nieces and nephews and a God Daughter Laurie Mutdosch.  He also appreciated the support of his sister in law Kathy Macdonald for the many trips to Yale New Haven.  He was predeceased by a half brother Paul DeSchene.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM on Wednesday, November 29th at Phalen Funeral Home in Torrington, CT with burial following at West Cemetery In Harwinton. Friends may call at the funeral home prior to the service Wednesday from 9:30-11:00 AM.
