Alfred DeFranceschi Jr., 83, of Torrington passed away March 21, 2024 at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital. He was the husband of Patricia Ryan DeFranceschi. Born in Torrington January 24, 1941 son of the late Alfred DeFranceschi Sr and Edith Mazzei DeFranceschi, he served in the US Army. He was a graduate of Ward School of Electronics and worked for Bell Labs in New Jersey and later several firms in Connecticut. He was a pilot and flight instructor at Great Barrington Airport and Johnnycake Airport, and also worked as a charter pilot. Most recently, he worked at the family business, Al's Garage in Torrington. He enjoyed motorcycling and the many trips he took with his wife on his motorcycle.
In addition to his wife, he leaves daughters Debra Mace and husband Jonathan and their children Ian and Cameron, and Lynn Amato and husband David and children Jason, Alyssa, and Kaitlin. Also surviving are his sister, Claudia and husband John Guisti and brother Ronald and wife Maryjane DeFranceschi, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Dennis
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, March 27, at 11 AM at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Harwinton. Burial will follow at St. Peter Cemetery.
